Please tell us a little bit about yourself: Who are you? How long have you been blogging? Why did you get into blogging?
I AM ALICE. Also Reading Rambo, although my actual reading is not so much Rambo-y as generally spazzy. I've been blogging for a year? Because super-awesome people had book blogs and I was like 'LO, I CAN TRY THIS.'
What are you currently reading, or what is your favorite book you have read so far in 2012?
Or? I SHALL SAY BOTH. I'm currently reading Girl Walks Into a Bar by Rachel Dratch, How the Irish Saved Civilization, An Evening of Long Goodbyes, and Inside Scientology. Oh, and some book about Celtic women. Hurray for Celtic women!
As for favorite from 2012, that is HIGHLY DIFFICULT, because I've read some kickass books this year. It probably comes down to Sisters Brothers and Fun Home, which are tremendously different. (also Attachments, which is ALSO tremendously different -- read them all, damnit)
Tell us one non-book-related thing that everyone reading your blog may not know about you.
My voicemail says I'm an aspiring cryptozoologist. The nurse at my doctor's office asked me if this were true and then slipped me a card with the name of a cryptozoology book on it. It was pretty great.
What is your favorite feature on your blog (i.e. author interviews, memes, something specific to your blog)?
Feature...right. Um.
Where do you see your blog in five years?
Oh, good Lord, will I still have this in five years? It seems presumptuous to assume people would want to read THAT much of someone's book opinions. I'd say I'd also run out of GIFs in five years, but I think we all know that's not true.
Which is your favorite post that you have written that you want everyone to read?

If you could eat dinner with any author or character, who would it be and why?
There is no way I'm going to answer this question correctly, because it takes too much time to think about (AUTHOR OR CHARACTER? SERIOUSLY? THERE ARE A GAJILLION OF THOSE THINGS).
I'm gonna have to go with author, because character's too hard. And that author would be George Eliot, because I'm pretty sure she was awesome. HOWEVER, Wilkie Collins is a serious contender, because then you'd get to ask him questions about Marian. MARIAAAAAAAAAN! (oh shit, Steinbeck too. I LOVE EVERYONE)
What literary location would you most like to visit? Why?
I really, really, really want to go to Haworth Parsonage. Like, a lot. But I also want to check out Coventry and see where George Eliot grew up. I think I might pass out at both these locations from sheer excitement.
What is your favorite part about the book blogging community? Is there anything that you would like to see change in the coming years?
Well OBVIOUSLY the actual community part. One establishes a little book blog posse, and it's awesome, especially after the initial weeks of despair as you wade through blog after blog that you have nothing in common with. So thank you, various oases.
Have your reading tastes changed since you started blogging? How?
Ugh, they HAVE. (Garth: "We fear change") I've been reading a LOT more contemporary novels. And not just contemporary, but NEW-contemporary. It's been weird. But also super-awesome, because one can seem all cutting edge around non-book blog friends. "Oh, that book? Yes that was QUITE good. No, I found The Night Circus to be a bit overrated. Yes, I got it early from the library because I knew it was going to be popular and put a hold on it before it was officially out." I never used to know what books were new or what was about to come out. BEHOLD THE CHANGE.
